Background of Lee
Lee’s speciality is taijutsu. However, why does he only use taijutsu instead of genjutsu and ninjutsu? It’s because he doesn’t possess ninjutsu or genjutsu. Although in the ninja world, it’s a must to have at least ninjutsu or genjutsu, Lee challenges this belief and decides to work extremely hard as a ninja, no matter what the cost. He even said his dream is to become a ninja who specialises in taijutsu so that he can prove everyone wrong. Moreover, he looks up to Might Guy, who also believes in his dream, hence, they wear the same outfit. No matter what people think, Lee will never give up. He is similar to Naruto in the sense that they both work hard so that they can prove everyone wrong and change their mindset about them.

Lee’s determination is clearly shown in this match’s defence, where he removes the heavy leg weights. He does this so that he can increase his speed and bypass Gaara’s defence; hence, this proves that he wants to be the strongest in Hidden Leaf Village, which specialises in taijutsu.
Lee’s taijutsu style has another unique technique known as the Primary Lotus. Though he only succeeded in destroying Gaara’s sand clone, it’s an interesting technique. There is an element of suspense where one wants to know more about the Primary Lotus, hence compelling one to watch the next episode.
The lesson from this episode is that one shouldn’t let society define what they can and cannot do, especially when they want to achieve their dreams.
