Analysis
This episode is epic because Naruto taps into the fox’s chakra thanks to Jiraiya’s training. Therefore, Jiraiya plays an important part in the outcome of this match. When Naruto tapped into the fox’s chakra, everyone was surprised by Naruto’s ability to use the Nine-Tails Chakra. It is making everyone acknowledge that Naruto has become a strong ninja, e.g., the Jonin teachers and the third Hokage.
Moreover, Naruto proves to be a strategist. Following an explosive clash between the two, Naruto manages to defeat Neji through the use of a shadow clone as a decoy. This is clever in the sense that Neji lets his guard down. Moreover, while Naruto was using a shadow clone as a decoy, he built a hole underground so that he could defeat Neji by punching his jaw. This was impressive to the extent that Naruto was thinking ahead of the situation, deceiving the opponent, and never letting his guard down. Therefore, Naruto keeps growing as a strong ninja, which shows that he is a dynamic character who continues to grow and learn new techniques.
After Naruto defeated Neji, he gave important advice to Neji. He told Neji to stop putting so much faith in fate. In other words, Neji shouldn’t let his destiny define who he is. Moreover, Naruto gives an example of his past, where he always failed exams at the Ninja Academy because he couldn’t master the Shadow Clone Jutsu. Now Naruto can master the jutsu at Jonin level. In this case, Naruto acts as a role model to people who have failed so many times or who have faced so many hardships, hence another point that proves that he is a dynamic character.
There is a positive atmosphere in this episode in the sense that there is positive music playing in the background that celebrates Naruto’s success. Naruto went from being a nobody to somebody in everyone’s eyes. This was a happy ending; hence, it was comic relief after an intense battle.
The lesson from this episode is that we shouldn’t let our circumstances define who we are. We are free to become the people we want to be, especially when following our dreams.
