"Chunin Challenge: Rock Lee vs. Sasuke!”
“Following Team 7 and being revealed to have a crush on Sakura, Lee challenges Sasuke to a battle. Feeling neglected in his teammate’s shadows, Naruto’s attempt to fight Lee himself only ended with him being quickly knocked out. Now interested in facing an opponent who calls himself the strongest Genin, Sasuke accepts his challenge but finds himself powerless against an opponent who uses taijutsu. Lee was about to finish the fight with his Dancing Leaf Shadow attack when a large turtle named Ningame appeared. Soon after, as Naruto thinks Ningame is his mentor, Lee’s actual mentor, Might Guy, appears on top of Ningame, with Team 7 a bit taken back by Guy’s tough love and motivational speech for Lee. Upon noticing them, Guy reveals himself to be a rival of Kakashi’s before taking his leave after giving Lee a punishment task to complete. Before leaving, Lee confesses that he is not actually the strongest Genin, who is someone else on his team, and that he only fought Sasuke to train himself. After Naruto pressures Sasuke over this turn of events, Team 7 reaches the room where the exams are to take place.”

Analysis
The theme of unrequited love is evident on Lee’s part when Sakura rejects him. Ironically, Sakura has Rock Lee and Naruto crushing on her, and yet she likes Sasuke, who is cold to her. This is a complicated situation for the characters Sakura, Rock Lee, and Naruto because they all like someone who doesn’t like them back. Therefore, they are round characters who all seem like real people facing the same situations real people face.
Naruto acted like a knucklehead because he rushed into fighting with Lee only to get defeated. In this case, Naruto is not acknowledged as a strong ninja, and he needs to work on his impatience.
Sasuke accepts Lee’s challenge. Although Sasuke activated his Sharingan, Lee had won the fight using his Dancing Leaf Shadow technique. At this moment, there is the mystery behind Lee’s technique, Dancing Leaf Shadow. The fact that the large turtle named Ningame stopped the fight means that the Jutsu is dangerous. If the turtle hadn’t stopped the fight, who knows what could have happened? We will know more about the Dancing Leaf Shadow later on.
We are introduced to a new character, a Jonin named Might Guy, who is revealed to be Lee’s mentor. Moreover, there is an element of surprise on the part of Team 7 when they are a bit taken aback by Guy’s tough love and motivational speech for Lee, which seems funny. They were crying profusely out of respect for each other. Moreover, Rock Lee is one of Might Guy’s favourite students in the sense that not only are their looks the same, but they have one thing in common. They work hard every day, which is why Rock Lee has much respect for his mentor. It didn’t even bother him when Might Guy punched him. In this case, their relationship as a student and a mentor is close. In other words, they have a close relationship.
There is another similarity in this episode. When Guy reveals himself to be a rival of Kakashi, it is similar to the rivalry between Naruto and Sasuke. Sasuke and Kakashi are similar in the sense that they have the Sharingan and are intelligent. Naruto and Might Guy are similar because they are both hyperactive and work extremely hard to become strong ninjas.
There is one characteristic of Rock Lee. He is the type of character who wants to fight with the strongest ninjas so that he can improve his fighting skills. This is shown when he confesses that he is not actually the strongest Genin and that he only fought Sasuke to train himself. Naruto realizes Lee’s hard work is through his taijutsu skills, which proves that Lee has been training extremely hard.
There is an unfolding of events when Team 7 goes to the room where the exams are to take place. Therefore, in the next episode, we will see the beginning of the Chunin Exams.
The lesson from this episode is that one needs to keep working hard until one achieves one's goals. If one relaxes, thinking they are all that, it could lead to one's downfall, just like what happened to Sasuke when he was defeated by Lee, who only used taijutsu. This proves that hard work and perseverance pay off.
