Espio delivered another punch to the bag, and moments of his life flashed through his mind, visions of his past, visions of his torment, visions of him. Every single moment that Espio the Chameleon had faced Chris Thorndyke, it stuck with him, stuck with him in the way that breaking an arm sticks with you, a lingering bitterness for everything associated with that moment, a strong distaste for the surrounding environment, whether that’s wherever you fell and landed wrist-first, or where Chris Thorndyke called you a douchebag and spit on your shoes. Sonic the Hedgehog, the only person to ever match Espio’s strength, a glorious warrior with unmatched speed and grace, and he abandoned all of that to play family with a child that nobody, most likely not even Sonic, likes? How repulsive, such a tossing away of that raw talent that Sonic had ever since his birth, he’ll pay for that, he’ll pay for that disobeyal of his strength, his punishment will be the blood of his “friend” being spilt onto the ground.
Espio stepped away from his punching bag, and placed a foot onto Gamma’s back, sitting up against him, and holding his head towards the sky, where the sun once was, there was the moon, a shimmering white light coming off of it and illuminating Espio’s face and horn, he pulled his head down, and closed his eyes. “Hmph… You will rise again, I will make you rise… And he will fall.”

As Tails and his friends will soon learn, it takes more than just killing Chris Thorndyke to kill Chris Thorndyke.
