Analysis
Despite Neji disabling Hinata’s ability to use chakra in the Gentle Fist style, Hinata refuses to give up. This is because she was inspired when Naruto was cheering for her. Therefore, Naruto plays a major role in the outcome of this match, where Hinata refuses to give up. Even her Jonin teacher, Kurenai, has noticed this change in Hinata since Hinata is no longer a quitter.
There seems to be a lot of secrecy about the Hyuga clan. For instance, Hinata told Neji that he is suffering more from fighting his destiny. This makes one ask a lot of rhetorical questions about what she is talking about. Moreover, Hinata’s words caused Neji to become angry, and he attempted a fatal blow. At that moment, this heightens the curiosity even more, hence giving us a reason to continue watching the anime, Naruto. Whatever the history concerning the Hyuga clan, it seems serious, as it will be revealed later on.
After witnessing what happened, the Jonin saved Hinata from the fatal blow from Neji. If it weren’t for them, who knows what could have happened? It would have been much worse than Hinata collapsing due to cardiac arrest. Though Hinata has lost the match, she is happy that she found the courage to fight against Neji. Therefore, she went from a static character who didn’t change to a dynamic character who has grown to have courage in herself and her capabilities.
When Naruto saw what happened to Hinata, he was presented as having compassion for others when he vowed to avenge Hinata. The way Neji treats Hinata is cruel to the extent that it makes Naruto angry, hence his loving, caring nature toward others.
The lesson from this episode is that it’s better to try everything to achieve your goals than not to do anything and regret it afterwards, just like Hinata, who lost the match but found happiness in having courage.
