School was over. Means no more high class drama or gossips about school's elite bitches getting screwed by still minor heirs of 'out of my league' families. I know my place and the hospital I'm working in is also owned by one of the rich pricks who graduated with me. I luckily got accepted into one of the prestige schools of the country as the 'honor' not the 'poor' student, my talk of interest was - free education, for that, dealing with rich bastards was not that big of a problem, I am a pro at being in the shadows and crowdy places are not my thing, socialising is next to suffocation in my dictionary. Thus, graduation went peacefully, ignoring the nth types of glares and spats thrown at my direction. 661Please respect copyright.PENANAj4zyVnT91I

Currently, I'm appointed in the emergency department until I've completed all paperwork required to impress the HOD, for my promotion, till then I'm limited to the 1st floor, stuck among the bloodied bodies like this current one I'm attending with 3 nurses provided. The surgery took five hours, longer than expected. No, I mentally corrected myself, there is no exact time of departure nor does the surgery foretells it's time limit, it all depends on the patient but it's the rain that's unexpected. It's only getting heavier by the time, it's 1 AM and 1 hour to reach home, thanks to the clouds crying today it's gonna take another fucking hour even when I'm blessed with no traffic. It's just one of those nights. I brace myself for the prickling cold slaps of wind and droplets to hit me until I get inside my car.
Once I locked the door, wiped whatever amount the small towel could soak from my pale skin and fasten my seatbelt, I raced the car.
Not far away from the campus, I spotted a woman's figure. I could make out she was looking around for help, her car must've given up in this harsh weather. I couldn't make out her identity as it was super dark .
In the end my doctress heart couldn't let me be selfish, I waited until she noticed me too, within few seconds she was knocking my car's window, asked for help, her reason was what I expected, once she dried herself and embraced the warm temperature I decided to drop her off first before igniting the engine.
During our drive through the empty road surrounded with trees, we shared our views on whichever song that came up, while I had the urge to ask her what was she doing out there this late at night but I answered myself for her that she might be visiting someone at the hospital, That was the closest conclusion I could get to.
It was a slow and safe drive to her building. I wanted to reach home before the sunlight hits the clouds so I politely rejected her offer to spend the night at hers and drive back home, i had to drive through the opposite road to get to hers which meant I had to take the road back to hospital and from there follow the route to my destination.
An hour and I had just crossed the hospital. The hospital was located in the downtown and I lived in a vicinity of south coast, hence it would still take long for me to reach my bed. I groaned in anticipation of being between the bedsheets and the blankets cocooning me.
I was brought back to reality when my eyes caught a glimpse of a man wobbling on and off the pedestrian walkway, his shoulders were hunched forward, he was jerking forward, it was dark enough for me to notice the outline of his body drenched in the rain, he seemed drunk. It was close to three in the morning. It was odd yet reasonable for a drunk to be wandering around this late. I once again fixed my eyes on the road and mind to things I have do once I get home. The roof needs fixing and after the nonstop rain I might have to do the gardening too.
To my surprise the man fell right front of my car. I suddenly applied breaks as the tyres screeched. I took several long breaths before opening the door with a death grip on my phone, I walked up to him when I realized he was just lying there, not moving. I gulped and the words came out of throat
"Are you okay?"
He turned to his side, his back facing me, he half grunted and half groaned in pain. I sighed mostly in relief, he wasn't dead
"You need help?"
...Yet.
He finally faced me as his back jerked against the concrete road. He groaned again, this time purely from pain.
I clicked open the torch open in my phone and finally saw him clearly.
Fuck!
I roamed the torch above his body to study his blood drenched shirt, the street light wasn't helping much, the blood painted on his shirt was dark red and the water droplets hitting his skin was making it worse. I noticed it didn't had and cut or bullet hole there, but only blood dripping down, from his hairs colored his skin. I o so delicately rested my palm on his forehead to check how bas his fever was. "I'm calling the ambulance." I blurted out. But it hit me that before they even arrive he would be dead. There's not much time left. His breathing was shallow, his mouth was slightly open. If I take him to the hospital... That was even more ridiculous. Unconsciously my hand covered my face. I hit the call button. I squeezed my eyes shut. Right then a heavy hand snatched my phone and threw it towards the pavement before I could react and I heard the sound of my dear phone breaking into pieces as it hit the hard surface. And I still couldn't react. My mouth hung open in shock and heavy heart burning disappointment from where my anger srarted spreading its roots. I finally gasped in air, filling my lungs.
"No Hospitals." He grunted with a heavy intake of air. He couldn't open his eyes.
Now my decision was clearer. I'd carry him there in my pretty car. But I won't be able to do it alone. And not a single vehicle passed by yet.
Right then three men wearing raincoat came around the trees and to us, their Head was moving in several directions before finally fixing on us. maybe they were some workers for the forest or lifessavers or maybe they were on patrol duty. Didn't mattered at that time. I wasted no time and waved my hands in air shouting at the top of my lungs, all other useless emotions fading away. My full concentration back on the fading life in front of me. "HELP!! PLEASE!!" All the three already had their big torches in our direction but they still felt the need to share a look among themselves. Thickheads!. They appeared huge and built. This guy lying before me was built too but was not overly huge. The three men turned and walked back. I was dumbfounded.
"Hang on there. I'm still here." I lifted his head and placed it on my lap, even if he wanted to refuse couldn't possibly have energy to. "Help will be arriving soon." He moved this time but I rested my hand and his forehead. The ever increasing heat of his body made my heart pound in fear, my throat clogged. "Don't worry, No hospitals." He opened his mouth wide in ache, gasping for air. I of because he didn't indicated anywhere in particular. "It'll be alright. The pain will go away soon." I kept whispering soothing words in his ears while I wiped his closed eyes. He was hurting.
Out of thin air two pairs of arms lifted him up and I looked up taken by surprise. They were the same two men who disappeared into thin air a while ago. They didn't made a sound. I didn't like it. But Not my problem. I sighed. But my brows furrowed in confusion, frustration and disappointment when I saw them taking him in the wrong direction. My car is here plus them taking him behind the bushes isn't exactly the ideal place for a dying person's treatment.
Nope. I object. 661Please respect copyright.PENANAasMPrAj42T
