Gabrielle turns to face Scarlett while her gaze is down, and she thinks to herself, Ignore the wannabe emo.

After about two minutes, the plane starts to shake. “We’d like to apologize in advance for any turbulence we may--” Out of nowhere, the plane starts spinning out of control, parts of the plane unhinging themselves, and almost immediately crashes.

Scarlett’s eyes fly open. “Crap!” she yells. Attempting to get up, she feels like her body is being ripped apart, muscles tearing and bones shaking. Laying on damp sand, she succeeds at sitting up, and she sees that the plane is set ablaze. She tries to absorb the fire to cease it, but finds she’s too weak.

Meanwhile, Gabrielle wakes from unconsciousness, not too far away. She sits up, also realizing the tremendous pain she’s in, and rubs her head. “Where am I?” she asks aloud, knowing no one is going to answer her.

Scarlett manages to scavenge a few items before the fire consumes most of the plane. She starts to walk away from the beach, but she senses that someone else is alive. She’s filled with hope as she scurries to see if the other passenger is conscious. That is, until she sees who it is. Great, she thinks to herself. Ms. Thinks-She’s-All-That is with me.

Scarlett walks towards Gabrielle, and Gabrielle rolls her eyes, thinking to herself, Oh great, that’s all I needed: a walking demon with me. Scarlett reads her mind and scoffs. “Speak of the Devil,” Scarlett spews. “I was just thinking about a sweet girl such as yourself!”

Gabrielle hops down from the tree and snatches the glove from Scarlett without speaking.

When she gets in the water, an exposed part of her skin makes contact with the water, and it starts fizzing. Scarlett’s eyes widen a lot. “What the hell is that?!” she demands.

While Scarlett is wandering around the forest they’ve now entered, Gabrielle spots a big gap between a mountain and a cave. Using her power, she materializes stairs of ice and heads for the cave. Unfortunately for Gabrielle, Scarlett catches a glimpse of Gabriella on ice, and using her own power, she melts it completely so that Gabrielle falls on the ground. Holy crap, Scarlett thinks. “Hey, Mermaid! Come here!”

Well now she knows, Gabrielle thinks with a sigh. She takes off her gloves for just a moment as she blasts Scarlett with water. Scarlett’s reaction time was a second too late, because before she can put up a barrier to block the water, she’s soaked head to toe and fall unconscious.
