詩人Auden自己也是同性戀，他有一位年齡差頗大的年輕戀人，他深知這種超越了普世價值觀的愛情是怎樣不被人接受，但愛就是愛，當你愛上一個人，你就會為他前赴後繼，不論性別，不論種族，不論年齡。
