I stared down at her shattered body, now empty and growing cold. I knelt there, just staring openly. I didn’t feel a gut wrenching feeling, or my heart shatter. I couldn’t feel anything out of the ordinary. ‘Had I really not loved her back?’ But how would I be able to love her back? I am devoted to protect Eren. I wouldn’t have time to keep her alive as well. That would put to much stress on my body, and my state of mind. What I could feel, shame. Sadness and shame. I was sad; only, it was because she was a good soldier. She didn’t deserve to die such a painful death.
