I sigh,

Storming to my nest I made in a tulip last week.

"Darling?" Mother calls

"No." I say.

She flutters down,

Hair curling around her naked body.

As does mine.

As does every fae,

Save the boys,

No shame.

"Estrella, you haven't even met him!"

"Says you."

Sighs,

"Listen, he is coming tomorrow from across the river."

She gestures out to our small patch of flowers.

"If he has good genes"

Oh no

"He will be this months mate."

I wince.

"Your first."
