She pushed on his chest while turning him about. Then did the same to Han. "Go!"

"I resent being-"

She growled at him. The Ancient side threatened to rip through her layers of self-control. 

She grabbed their arms, flipping them over twenty feet away, onto the soft grasses. 

The spider-nab dropped out of the tree. She growled at it, unable to speak. Her body dripped with sweat. Daggers in hand. 

I like this side of you. It's amusing to me, Unnamed said.

Just shut up.

It lunged at her aiming for her head.

She dodged it then sliced at its leg. The dagger bounced off, almost flying from her hand. How'd it ever get this far out?

Parcival and Han ran over.

Parcival spread his feet cupping his hands together. Spreading them an energy ball shot out from his palms. It hit the spider-nab on its thorax, it backed away squealing. 

It hissed low raising on its back legs, she rolled to the side, but not before its fangs sank into her arm. 

She screamed. 

The poison already was paralyzing her arm, it burned. She went down to her knees, hands propped on the soil. The blood lust vanished.

"Merryn!"

Han bounded over. Could only see his furry feet. He set his hands on her shoulders, a warming sensation spread down her back.

She coughed.

The spider-nab let out an airy squeal. 

"Die already!" Parcival poked its abdomen with his saber. 

The Adapts are wrong. Humans aren't week. She smiled a tiny bit.

The warmth receded, as a burning starting at the base of her spine pushing it away.

"It's not working! Parcival quit playing with it and kill it already."

She sank down on her stomach. So tired now. 

Her heartbeat in forefront, slowed. 

Thud-thump.

The spider-nab fell down into its own body fluids, as its appendages were chopped off. Good. 

Idiot, should have taken the mountain route. Gods hex it all! If it ... get's free they'll die too.

Thud-thump.

One of them snorted. "You call that playing?"

"Can you fix this?"

"No, it's too hard. She needs a higher tier priest. I'm more of a scribe then a healer."

"Leave me."

"Did you say something?" One of them said, as to who, well, they both sounded metallic.

"She's becoming cold. Hurry up!" 

The burning poison spread into her torso, then to her toes. 

Thud-thump.

"Need to hurry, her aura is fading." 

"She's delirious." 

One picked her up. She shuttered as the touch sent a shock into the biten sholder. 

"Sorry." 

Some use I am, falling to poison of all things. 

Curses and angry words filled her ears. 

Thoughts became heavy after this and her eyesight cloudy. She closed them.

Shaking. 

Thud.

The darkness gathered from all sides, each sense faded in turn until just the darkness remained. 

Silence.

After an innumerable amount of time a thrilling floating sensation started. Slow at first, then it built up speed. Almost like thoughts in tangible form. An echo all around rippled and flowed backwards. This echo, a thought crystallized and took form.

Where am I? 

All looked different, had a gray tint to it like when at night. She stood behind Parcival. 

He shook ... my body? 

Then shouted while he carried her as he ran towards a dirt road off to the east. 

She was pulled out along with them, so stopped trying to walk.

I hope they figure out my body needs to be sealed or Unnamed will come out. Probably kill them. Why?! 

There were threads of energy connected to the body. They were so transparent that they were easy to miss. 

My fingers. She formed a fist and thrust her right spirit arm to the side. 

Nothing. 

Now what? 

Energy. What was it mom said about this again? 

The two humans reached a town of some sort. Parcival talked with several people before running off with her body to the end of the town. 

Energy. Our souls are energy, with bodies of flesh to ... to what? 

Memories were as slippery now as an interrupted dream. 

A kind looking priest came out of a small marble temple. These back towns couldn't afford grand ones, what with marble so hard to obtain. 

Hum. Some used treestone but it wasn't the same it didn't collect the light spirts energy as well. 

What was I doing? 

Part of her wanted to wander inside.

The priest looked straight at her. 

Can he see me? 

He visibly paled. Then began talking rapidly to tall armored man and the puffy cathet man. 

They all went inside, pulling her with. 

Ick. Her body was swollen and seeped blood from her mouth and nose. Yuck. 

She backed away as far as the thread would allow.

Her body twitched and jerked. 

Oh. Right. That's what I've been doing. 

She jumped and flung both arms up. 

Nothing. Again? 

Okay... backing up further she tried once more. Her body jumped up with its arm in the air out of the man's hold onto the floor. 

All three yelled and backed off from the body. 

Oops.

The priest brushed off robe, talked to the men. Parcival picked her up. The priest went to some other room, then came back carrying a cup filled with whitish fluid. Well, it was hard to tell as all was grayish. 

He dipped two fingers in it, then traced a curve on the floor. Repeating this until a large rune was completed this one had symbols of the sun throughout it along with overlapping leaf and water patterns. In the middle an empty circle. 

He pointed to the armored man, who nodded and placed her body there on her back. 

The priest talked some more, and they all sat down. The priest at the North end of the rune, Parcival west and Han East.

It was difficult to watch, she squeezed her eyes shut. 

When she opened them her body's eyes opened as well. 

All three sat around her cross-legged, they startled when the body's eyes opened. 

The priest talked again and held his arms in front with palms up forward. The others the same. They all were all so grim. He began talking, no chanting as his lips moved in the same manner each time.

I'll just sit here, trying to move just upsets them. 

She sat beside the armored man. He shivered. 

A bright beam extended out of the priests palms seconds later the same from the others. 

The beams intersected together over her torso. 

Her body writhed. 

Vines sprouted from under the body and whipped out at the three, coiling around them. 

That can't be good.  That's right, for good or ill, I'm that things vessel, must be looking for energy.

But ... why care? A new pulling sensation different from the darker ancient one tugged. 

A transparent branch pushed out of the flooring behind the priest. The pulling tugged at her. Voices filled the room. She stood and went over to it. 

The branch grew, and more pushed out rising up until a tall tree stood. Its trunk glowed in the middle like a door. In it an outline if an old familiar Elvien man. His hand outstretched, mouthing the words:

"Come."

She held back just shy of taking his hand. Tears wet her cheeks. Grandfather. She shook her head slowly. 

He nodded and turned back into the tree. It dipped back down, vanishing.

Twisting around, the men struggled under the vines. She frowned. Why are they so important? 

Yes. The god. The weakened god. Was it trying to take their energy? 

She pushed it aside and went over to her body. She gathered the threads in both hands and yanked on them. Come on! 

The body twitched.

Vines erupted out from her mouth, they wrapped her body covering it. While the other ones tightened. The vines glowed and Han slumped over. 

Must do something! But what?

The priest jumped up, tensing up his arms. 

That is it!

Sweat ran down his face as he tensed against the bonds.

She ran back as far as the threads would allow and jerked them. Her body went flying to the left and went down into the wall, cracking the marble. The vines snapped, ozing out sap. 

Turning back, the priest was glowing. The vines split, showing a glowing white hand. 

I see, he used a light spell to cut it. Clever. Light has heat as well. 

He freed the others, than walked over in front of her then pointed at the body. 

It was in bad shape, not just ravaged by the poison, but wounds lanced its back. Some vines pieces still stuck out and mixed with the blood. A leg and arm were twisted in all the wrong angles. 

I'm not going back in that! 

He looked at her and pointed to it. 

What? What do you want? I can't go back in. Right? 

She shuttered. 

The man in armor came and gingerly picked up the body, placing it again on the rune. 

She moved forward following it some. 

They talked again and started up the bright beam again. This time finishing and covering the body. 

The thread shortened dragging her toward it. 

No! I changed my mind! She clawed at the smooth marble unable to grip it.

A foot off a spirit lay next to her body, its eyes had large bags under them and its cheeks were sunken in. He smiled, all canines long and sharp. 

A final tug pulled her back in.

The world flooded back, lights, sounds, color.

Pain. 

Everything is pain.

Her body twitched. 

Han had his hands on her chest, they glowed green. 

No, let me die!

A touch. 

The man ... Parcival. He held her. 

"Stop scaring me like that," he said.

A croaking sound came from her was she tried to speak. She coughed and spewed out a mouthful of blood. 

He stiffened. "Get over here and heal her all ready!" 

"Of course," a gravely voice said. She turned her head a little. Ah, the priest. 

Her body strained to bend during a spasm, her back cracked. 

"Yaaaa!"

The wall. My back hit the wall.

Tears squeezed out, as all of the pain scorched through her. She clenched her jaw.

"Don't let her move, she's still close to death. Keep her sill." 

Parcival's huge hand hovered over her face, then rested on the crown of her head the other pushed down on her stomach. 

"Stop moving," the priest said. 

"Shhhh."

She huffed. It did hurt less being still. Or was that the healing spell? 

Regardless a not so bad numbness seeped in. Her face relaxed, she unclenched her jaw. 

Hans face hovered over. "How do you feel now?" 

"Numb." 

He managed to pale under the fur. He looked at the priest who shook his head. 

"Go grab the long flat board in the other room."

Han came back a while later, holding it. They held her neck and back with their hands, then slid her on it. 

It pinched. But do-able. 

They took her to a room with a small bed and lifted her on it. 

"Go now, I'll tend to her. Get some rest," the priest said. 

Later they left, he closed the door, then came back. 

"What to do with you?" He brought a thin object from under the left side if his robe.

Its handle that showed shone in the candle light.

She flinched and was rewarded with a bolt of pain that sucked away her breath. 

"If I heal you that thing lives. If I let you die it will be free. Correct?" 

He stuck his face up into hers. "Why do you host an evil spirit? I can see it, it disgusts me!"

She shook, unable to answer. Please shut up. Even my teeth hurt. She closed her eyes. Go away. Go away. The pain is better than dealing with you!
