Ten years later.
It’s been ten years since she walked out of my life with my kids. My son Zaveion was 10 and my daughter Saviyah was 13. They were my world but boy my daughter was just like her mother stubborn and hard headed. My daughter had both me and her mother in the same room because she wanted to be in the wrestling team but they didn’t have a girls team.
“Mrs Carver we can’t allow her to play with boys.” Her principal said.
”Banks my last name is Banks I sit here and donate a lot of money to this school and you are telling me what my daughter can’t do? Set up your best wrestler if my daughter loses we give up but if she wins she’s on the team.” Tahlia said.
”Momma that’s a great idea.” Savi said rubbing her hands together.
My daughter has always been different. We tried girly activities but she like karate and boxing. She dressed like a boy honestly at this point I’m just waiting for her to come out the closet. My son he loved anything physical. He was like me ready and on go.
“I don’t think this is a good idea. What if she gets hurt.” I said.
”Daddy your being real cringe right now you think I’m gonna lose?” My daughter asked.
”Of course he does Savage he’s just worried but what did I teach you.” Tahlia asked.
”Somepoeple wanna knock down my crown but I always remain with my crown on my head as long as I tried.”
“Exactly.” They did there little hand shake.
In the years we been broken up she hasn’t dated or anything as far as I know. She still was as beautiful as she was from the day I met her. The break up seemed to not even bother her. She never looked sad or anything shit fucked me up. She simply didn’t care. I tried so hard after my son was born to get my wife back. Flowers jewelry whatever I tried everything. She wouldn’t budge then my moms died five years after we been broken up. She was there for me helped smooth my soul. Helped me get up when I felt like I couldn’t go on. Then once I got my shit together she left. We tried to get divorced but he never worked. I figure it was the love she still had for me.
”Miss Banks.” I heard the wrestling coach call my wife. Here he goes it was no secret he had a crush on my wife. He’s asked her out and every time she turned him down.
“What is it Mr Valdez?”
“Your uno table I been trying to get in for months how much is gonna cost me.” He said.
”Put my daughter on your team save your best player the embarrassment.” She negotiated.
”Miss Banks come on now. I’m a loyal customer. I can pay whatever.” He said.
”I don’t want your money I want my daughter on your wrestling team.” She said.
”Play me for it then.” He said.
”You sure about that?” She asked.
”Play for it you wind she’s on the team I win I get a date with you.” He said like I wasn’t standing here.
”Tahlia.” I said.
”Tonight 12 be there.” She said.
