Chapter 2 – A Tour with Wolfie
Wolfie was showing us around—pointing out the school lockers, the layout of the halls, and the windows. Everyone around us was a magical creature, carrying their books and walking around excitedly. While Wolfie talked about his inventions, he also took every chance to brag about himself. Then, he showed us the class schedule. Based on that, we found our seats.
After school, there were all kinds of activities: volleyball, even courses about flying horses! My eyes sparkled with excitement. As we moved forward, I felt like I was inside a cartoon. Luca gave me a mischievous smile and winked, speaking in his playful tone:
“Did Your Majesty like our school?”
I nodded like a child. Luca giggled and turned into a cat, circling around my feet. I laughed even harder. Suddenly, an alarm sounded. Luca transformed back into a human. His face looked shocked. He mumbled that he had something to take care of and started talking to someone behind the lockers. His eyes filled with tears. Then, he nervously dug into his bag, clearly stressed.
Something was wrong with Luca.
He accidentally dropped his lunchbox, transformed into a bird, and flew away. I grabbed the lunchbox and followed him. He was heading toward the beach. The sea was deep blue and shining, occasionally splashing me lightly. Luca entered the forest. Deer were running swiftly between the trees. Then, I saw a door. I opened it—it was a castle. A faint pink, shimmering castle.
Inside, there was a TV, a couch, and a small table in front of it. Next to a small table sat a man on his knees. He had black hair with a single white streak, piercing black eyes, a black suit, and pale white skin. On his head, a black crown with a white star.
It was Lucifer Morningstar himself—the King of Hell and Luca’s father.
Lucifer narrowed his eyes and tilted his head, his sharp, mocking smile playing on his lips.
"Hmm... Why have you come here, my son? Could it be that you're jealous of my charm? Ah, yes, it's because I draw attention from women, isn't it? It's getting under your skin, isn't it? And now, as father and son, you seek my advice? How sweet of you." He rolled his eyes and smirked ironically.
Luca crossed his arms, visibly irritated. He had come solely to discuss the inheritance, but his father's incessant narcissism was grating. He wasn't pleased with how his own boundaries were being trampled.
"Take a look at your reflection in the river, Narcissus," Luca snapped.
Lucifer laughed, his grin both narcissistic and feignedly sorrowful. Clutching his chest in mock pain, he said,
"Ah, my son, you're breaking my heart. Does a son speak to his father this way? Won't you tell me you love me? Or are you trying to escape this game? Remember, I'm always one step ahead." He winked, his eyes gleaming devilishly as he watched Luca.
With a theatrical tone and a deep gaze, he tilted his head, maintaining his mocking smile as he observed Luca.
"And did I mention how much more entertaining you are when you're angry? A man's fury and pride are so extravagant, aren't they? Mischievous yet sincerely innocent and irate. Why hide your true self behind this naughty facade? Allow me to unravel you and make this game even more delightful, my sweet little rascal."
Luca, increasingly disturbed by Lucifer's narcissistic demeanor, tried to suppress his anger. He wanted to discuss the family's dwindling inheritance and their descent into poverty, consequences of Lucifer's reckless behavior: excessive drinking, indiscriminate affairs with both women and men, and his narcissism. He had neglected his children, hoarded wealth for himself, and was notoriously stingy. Moreover, Lucifer Morningstar had abandoned Luca's mother while she was pregnant with their third child, leaving Luca with deep-seated resentment and a strained relationship with his father.
Luca, his voice laced with sarcasm and his face stern, confronted him,
"While you're always praising yourself, Father, our inheritance is vanishing, and you remain indifferent. Nothing matters to you. Did you ever care about me? You abandoned me, my mother, and my siblings!" His final words were shouted, his face contorted with rage, eyes wild.
Lucifer's expression darkened, shedding his mockery for a more serious, cold demeanor. He retorted,
"Must you dredge up that tragic past, my little rascal? Yes, I left you, but there was a reason. It was to let you grow amidst your own darkness, to experience pain alone, and see the world for what it truly is. Only then will you realize how perilous this game is. When you grasp the reins like I do, you'll understand that nothing truly matters. Control will be yours. Therefore, you must come to terms with your own darkness, not remain in conflict with me, my son."
Luca took a deep breath, struggling to comprehend his father's philosophical musings. Rolling his eyes, he responded,
"What are you trying to say? I don't understand you. Are you speaking in that clichéd Shakespearean manner again? Ugh, I'm saying one thing, and you're off on another tangent."
Lucifer narrowed his eyes, smiling slightly, and tilted his head once more.
"I see, I need to speak on your level, don't I? Very well. But remember, being misunderstood can be a source of power, a mystery. And you, my son, hold the key to unraveling that mystery, not I." His smile was dark, his eyes glinting with a sinister light.
Luca rolled his eyes, growing increasingly weary of his father's Shakespearean antics. Reacting impulsively, he shouted,
"Mystery? There's no mystery here! You're just spouting nonsense. Every time I try to express myself, you retreat into that Shakespearean act. You're truly incomprehensible and narcissistic. How did we go from discussing the inheritance to this?"
Selin, standing at the doorway with Luca's lunchbox in hand, had been listening. She was surprised and didn't understand the relationship between Luca and his father. Curiously, she watched.
Luca noticed her and looked concerned. Fearing his father might harm or manipulate Selin, he warned her,
"Selin, you need to leave immediately. This isn't the right time. Please, go now."
Upon seeing Selin, Lucifer activated his charisma. Walking confidently, he opened his arms with charm, eyes narrowed, and a provocative, mocking smile on his face.
"Hmm... And who do we have here? A little kitten has entered our home. How splendid." He pushed Luca aside, smiling seductively. Gently taking Selin's arm, he leaned in to meet her gaze. Selin's T-shirt sleeve slightly rolled up, revealing her arm, which Lucifer licked. Selin looked uncomfortable, her face flushing. Lucifer stopped, slithering around her like a snake, smiling slyly.
"I could make you the queen of Hell, darling. There's potential in your darkness." He rested his head on her shoulder, whispering,
"We could rule Hell together." His eyes gleamed devilishly, his voice seductive. Moving in front of her, he gently lifted her chin, speaking in a low, alluring tone,
"My little queen."
Selin pushed him away, clearly disgusted. Trying to smile nervously, she said,
"Ah, no, sorry. I just came to give Luca his lunchbox. I'm his friend. My name is Selin. If you don't mind, may I give it to him?" She clasped her hands together, trying to explain. Luca waved his hands, signaling her not to behave that way, shaking his head anxiously.
Lucifer, hearing this, was even more amused. With a mocking and seductive tone, he said,
"Ah, so you're my son's friend? No need to deceive me, sweetheart. You've been observing me from the start, and now you're pretending to be naive, suppressing your feelings. How sweet. Well then, as Luca's friend, tell me—when will you confess your feelings? When will you admit you're attracted to me? Or would you prefer I coax it out of you? Hmm? How deep into the darkness do you wish to delve? Just take one step; there's no need to be shy. I want to get to know you better." He looked at her lips, his smile growing more devilish and provocative.
Selin was shocked and increasingly uncomfortable. Realizing Lucifer was pushing her boundaries, she mustered her courage, trying to diminish her shyness. With a childish and mocking smile, she retorted,
"Ah, get to know me better, you narcissistic jerk? Where did you get these lines—from some clichéd soap opera from 2016? Oh my god, I'm so impressed." She looked at Lucifer mockingly, challenging him.
Lucifer was momentarily surprised but maintained his composure, laughing devilishly. He enjoyed Selin's defiance but remained one step ahead. Smiling playfully, he said,
"Hmm, such a sharp tongue, princess. I admire your courage. But remember, too much bravery can lead to your downfall. With such boldness, you might lose yourself and spiral out of control. In that case, I could help you lose control even more. What do you say, rebellious little princess?" He tilted his head, his eyes gleaming devilishly as he winked.
Selin laughed heartily, which pleased Lucifer even more. His smile widened.
"Ah, Selin, you're even more attractive when you're sarcastic. But you're resisting me, aren't you? Hiding it behind a mask is pointless." He whispered devilishly,
"Let's see who plays the game better, princess—you or me."
Luca pushed Lucifer aside and took Selin by the hand, quickly leading her out.
As Selin glanced back, she saw Lucifer smiling in that familiar, narcissistic and shadowy way. His eyes gleamed with darkness, and he gave her a sly, devilish wink—still trying to tempt her, still testing her limits, still trying to understand her.

"Ah… This girl’s behavior—it’s both surprising and intoxicating. I wonder… could she be the main character of my little game? A sweet little puppet, perhaps…"
He let out a mischievous chuckle.
