Starlight Pirates

Hark, ye wanderers of the mist-shrouded strait,

Where stars did ferry thee on a journey replete,

With merriment and tales of warriors' might,

And treasures untold, a tantalizing sight.

Sirens' songs and fabled fishes took flight,

Shocking the mortals with their wondrous plight,

But trust was not bestowed upon these kin,

As the captain's course led them in a spin.

Marooned upon a mystic isle they stood,

Feasting on the fishes, their only food,

Until their gluttony left but five to guide,

Their sole salvation across the waters wide.

Yet as they sought to embark, a tempest raged,

Three guardians lost, hope's embers assuaged,

Until one remained, a beacon in the squall,

Sailors chanting "Arghh, we'll conquer all!"

Alas, their words proved jinxed, the mist concealed,

A serpent colossal, its might unsealed,

Devouring half their vessel in its maw,

Echoing screams, hisses of dread and awe.

When all seemed lost, a feathered host took wing,

Parrots chanting "Arghh!" their rallying ring,

Assailing the serpent with beak and claw,

As sunbeams pierced the veil, a sight to awe.

Sirens rose from depths, their priestess wise,

Vowing to aid the humans, a grateful prize,

For luring the worm that plagued their domain,

And offering a feast, a bounty to gain.

An epic clash ensued, sirens' song-spears hurled,

Parrots dive-bombing, humans' cannons unfurled,

Until the serpent succumbed to their might,

Vanquished by the union of an unlikely plight.

In gratitude, the sirens a vessel did craft,

Of wood and shell, a gift for the valiantaft,

As parrots joined the crew, their chatter gay,

Renewed were the mortals, to live another day.

With hearts emboldened, and a kinship newfound,

The humans embraced all creatures, earthly bound,

For in their odyssey, they learned to revere,

The flying fishes, guides in times of fear.
