Stilettos, I'm not a newbie to wearing them, however ones that are brand new and costed a pretty penny are giving me a lot of confidence to stand with my man who towers over me. "It's your drink of choice" I comment as he places one hand on my waist. As he leans slightly on the bar I wonder what I ever did to deserve the affections of such a beautiful man. His blonde hair pushed back, cleanly shaven, my eyes take him in. Piercing blue eyes that search through to your soul admire me before he smiles.

"It is my drink of choice, but nothing compares to your espresso martinis" he says softly, myself and Jay, at parties had made cocktails together. His favourite had been my espresso martini.

Jay rests his hand on my lower back as he walks behind me following me to the table. We pass a bandstand that hosts an impressive full jazz band, a small dance floor that is decorated with arches and long sweeping branches of real flowers. There are statues made of marble and the chandeliers glisten spreading light around the room.

The windows beside our table host an extravagant view of the lake. It's dusk and there are lights illuminating the scene. Accompanied by the jazz music, the whole experience is very extravagant. I can only imagine how the food will taste. The waiter politely hands us menus before setting our drinks down before us.

"He does love my mum but he's not the most available person. He is dedicated and he devotes himself to his work" he admits. I stroke his hands. Listening to his voice, taking in his affection. The way he looks at me. It's changed, I thought he was intense before. Since we had sex though, when he looks at me he is transfixed, he looks at me with adoration.

"My dad used to bring us to this area, whenever my parents weren't working. And it's the place I felt most at home. Like we were a family unit" he says.

"So my mum raised me, we always lived here in California. But we did lots of stuff together like cooking and baking. We didn’t move around much" I say smiling.

A waiter brings us some bread. I look out of the window at the lake, how the water sparkles under the lights. The boats still cruising around. I gaze back over at Jay. He's breathtaking, whenever I look at him I feel even more sure of him. We have a moment just staring into each other's eyes.

Our dinner is presented to us, as my head fills with images of him exploring the lake as a younger boy, fishing and smiling with his mother.

"I intend on getting us desert by the way so I hope you're hungry. When I was younger I used to share a chocolate fountain with my mother, they bring it to your table and you can dip stuff in it" he says.

Once we're finished he orders me another cocktail and I move my chair to sit closer to him, so that I'm facing the window. The view is like no other, he rests his hand on my thigh as the band starts up a new tune.

"I love you" he says clearly looking into my eyes and I’m unsure why, as he’s said it to me many times, however this time his words take my breath away.

"I know this is overwhelming and I know it is insanely soon, and it breaks all the fucking rules. But I do, I love you. I knew you were extremely special when we first ever met, I was an idiot for so long and you changed my life and my outlook on things gradually over time. "Jay, I spent almost a year being totally consumed by you and not knowing why you got to me so much. I realise now it's because I needed you.You set my body completely alight just by looking at me let alone touching me. I feel like we're in the right place now. We order the chocolate fountain for desert. When it arrives I'm shocked at how big it is. The waiter smiles at me, again, and places the strawberries, pretzels and wafers on the table.

Jay takes a strawberry and dips it in the chocolate. He smiles and feeds me it making sure it's doesn't drip down onto me, his hand hovering underneath it.

He takes the pretzel in his mouth and I smile holding his eye contact. After that we stick to feeding ourselves conscious that we are in a public place.

We enjoy the company of one another and the flowing alcohol and chocolate before Jay retrieves the bill. I take a glance as it's open on the table and I almost gasp in shock. I’ve known for some time that he has a certain amount of worth, when a man shows you his private lake house alongside kid many cars you assume he has a certain amount of money. Yet still I hadn’t imagined him to have that amount to just eat and drink away. He leaves a tip on top of the bill, and even as I protest to help with the bill he refuses explaining that this was his treat.
