I am scared

I wonder why the night attacks my mind with its screams

I hear your voice even when I'm alone

I see the scars on my fragmented skin

I want the truth but all I get are lies

I am scared

I pretend that I care so people won't stare

I feel betrayed and lost I can never pay the cost

I touch the place in my mind that needs it the most

I worry you will never truly know me

I cry just to make you think that I can feel something

I am scared

I understand love is only a lie

I say love is nothing but the truth

I dream of being empathetic

I try to forget you

I hope you grow and bloom

I am scared
