"Let's be honest" I say softly to Ross. It's discharge day today at the hospital, I've helped him to pack his bags and he's had a shower and changed into normal clothes. Jay has gone to collect the documents from reception that Ross needs to sign.

"I'm sure you're happy to be going home" I say softly. He looks up at me and stands up gingerly. I steady him with my hands and he smiles.

"The offer is there" I say to him. Jay and I have previously discussed this and we're happy for Ross to stay in one of our spare rooms, if he should so choose. Walking is still difficult, and it would be ideal for him to utilise the room with an en-suite. I'm not busy, and I'm happy to make sure that he eats until we leave. It would give Matty a break too. I would even be happy for him to stay there once we leave and travel back to Italy, but we'll discuss that as a couple closer to the time.
