I walked the road that’s lined by bones

And I saw desecration

I walked the halls in golden tones

And I saw jubilation

And I asked why and I asked how

You could become so heartless

And I got told to shut my mouth

That I don’t understand this

And I watched the earth soaking red

While you looked at dancers instead

And I watched freedom become dead

While Her horror screams were muted

I watched the death behind their eyes

And I saw so much terror

I watched their spirits try to rise

And I saw all dreams’ bearer

And I knew that they were true life

No matter how strong hurt is

And all they have is love and strife

They never can deserve this

And I watched the earth soaking red

While you looked at dancers instead

And I watched freedom become dead

While Her horror screams were muted

I heard the people hope for death

And I saw people hopeless

I heard them swear under their breath

And I saw how strong hope is

And I asked why and I asked how

Survival could be worth it

And then I saw the future’s vow

And they still hold on for it

And I watched freedom become dead

While Her horror screams were muted

The people were afraid

And so they obeyed

They’re not meant to be enslaved

The people were afraid

And you kept them stayed

They’re instead meant to be saved

The people were afraid

And so they obeyed

Their strong secret spirits raved

The people were afraid

And you kept them stayed

So your judgement is engraved

Saw their secrets standing tall

And I saw it all
