I started out writing poetry as almost exclusively sonnets. The Shakespearean and Italian sonnet forms are still my very favorite. But over the past decade or so I have written and published a lot of haikus. I like the constraint of a specific form (primarily the 5-7-5 syllable format per line), but also the ability to say a lot in very few words. I alo like to use linked haikus to create longer works. Here, I will post some new and older haikus that may be new or previously published online or in my two books of poems.
