Luke stood in front of the mirror, studying his reflection. He stepped into the shower, the warm water washing over him, washing away the remains of sleep. After a quick wash, he appeared, droplets still sticking to his skin, and reached for his freshly ironed school uniform. He dressed into the shirt and neat trousers, then threw his backpack over his shoulder, feeling the weight of responseablitles pull him down.116Please respect copyright.PENANAJtRW5hNopk
As he walked out the bathroom door, his mother stopped him in the hallway, "You’re going to the sea today," she said loudly her voice echoing loudly in the quiet house. 116Please respect copyright.PENANA6dv1Z6FN9B
Luke sighed, "I have exams, Mom," he said, his eyes not meeting hers as he walked past her towards the refrigerator.116Please respect copyright.PENANAiKOA4rzVwS
His mother’s voice rosed "Do you have no respect for your dead father?!"
Luke set the orange juice on the counter before pouring it into a clean glass. His eyes then met hers. "Do not talk about my father. And I'm not going to the sea." He drank from the glass cup.
"Yes you are! You are to do as told." She said.
'Do As Told' was a word his father used. His father used this when he wanted Luke to do something.
Luke slammed the cup the glass meeting the floor within seconds. His mother screamed. The cup nearly missed her. Luke grabbed his bag and left.
