Three fluffies; bipedal humanish animal creatures, were sitting in college history when their teacher assigned a class project. Everyone groaned, and the huge polar bear guy quieted them down. "You will be grouped up with three or four students. I don't care what the project is. However, you have to talk about our history. You will have three months on it. I would like to see some group progress once a month, so I can tell how far and well you're working."
As class ended, the three wolf beasts started walking home, but one led them into a small forest, which was not where they usually go. "Where are you taking us?" one of the ladies asked, being pulled by the big wolf guy.
"This is a shortcut." He answered. "This will get us around the river and the bridge. I've read some books and felt this would be better."
"Well, since we're going on a 'shortcut'," the second lassie said. "Maybe we should try to find a topic for our project." The short lady pulled out some papers and listed some names.
After five minutes of rejecting every item about history on the list, they saw the end of the forest trail. They were surrounded by a large field of green grass and some small mountains and ridges, all covered with grass.
"Whoa!" the short gal said, looking up from her papers. "Beautiful."
"You said a mouthful." The other lady said, "But, sweetie, are you sure this is the shortcut?"
"No." He replied as they all looked around the stone ridges. "This is something else."
They put their hands on the stones, but it felt almost fake. Their hands led them around a small hill, but one of their hands felt something entirely different. "Hey, ladies!" he shouted. "I think I found something!"
The girls ran quickly and as they pulled lots of grass, vines, weeds, and other nature off, they all felt a doorknob.
"What's this?" The tall blue wolf asked.
"A doorknob?" The golden fox girl asked.
"Let's go in." The male wolf replied, trying to open the door, but it was rusted shut.
"No, let's go home." The female wolf said a bit frightened.
"Are you scared?"
"So what if I am? Are you with me?" She turned to the golden fox, but she was at the doorknob. "Hey lovies, it has a tech key pad." The fox announced. "Let's see if I can fix it or hack into it." She said, pulling something from her bag. "Bro, take a walk that way for a few hundred meters and tell me what you see."
"Why?"
"If this is something secret, it can be government-issued as well. We might have discovered a government thing. There would be cameras. Check the area out."
The big blue and black wolf walking through a clearing, seeing nothing, was a bit angry. "Tell me what to do, sis? Good for you. You're smart and geeky. Oh, I can open a tech panel. Bite me. Just..." As he was complaining, he heard a click. "What was that?" Then I heard some things move in the bushes.
As her brother left, the golden fox opened the panel and saw a few wires. They usually have colored wires in them: red, blue, black, green, etc., but they all were brown, black, or green from the dirt and corrosive acid. "Fine!" she said. As she pulled them all out. They heard a click, but they also heard a loud yell.
"What is it??"
"My boyfriend is screaming." The girl wolf answered.
The guy ran around and stood behind his girlfriend, leaning and gripping her back. He explained what he heard over yonder.
"This might be part of a secret thing. I'll stay here, and you two look around." The fox suggested. As the wolves were looking around near the bushes, they found a weird, rusty cylinder thing. "Is this what you heard?" She asked. "I don't know; I was in the field, but I heard something move in the bushes." "It must have fallen," she replied. "But I heard more than one. There might be more."
Once they returned to the door, the wolves held three cylinder objects.
"What did you find?" she asks the two. They showed them what was in their hands. "Cool. What are they?"
"Aren't you the tech expert?" her brother asked.
"I've never seen these before. But the door opened. Let's enter."
Once they entered, they saw a long hallway. To their left, there was another small hallway. "Let's go that way." the fox proposed. "It's much smaller and lighter than that way."
Going down the small hallway, there was only one door. Inside there is a giant room with a computer and some tubes with some odd creatures, but they looked dead.
"Eww! What's this?" The girl fox asked. "Are they alive?"
"I don't think so." The blue wolf answered. "Look, there's red stuff and other tings around in there."
"It looks like there's nothing here." The fox said as she leans up against the wall, but her shoulder hits a switch and turn on a large computer and lights. She jumps, and all three huddle together. It showed a giant screen with many buttons on it. The creatures show more detail, and the guy recognizes a face.
"Wait! This is a human!" he shouted.
"What?" Both ladies shout.
"Here." He pulls out the history book his father gave him. He always brings it with him. It was an antique history book and showed humans in it.
"Okay." The wolf girl spoke slowly. "Let's get out of here before you reawaken the computer."
They turned off the switch and left the dark room.
The word 'awaken' was slowly echoed into the computer, and then the lights started again and the awakening program to reanimate the frozen humans started.
