I tentatively called out, "Nora?" The little cat immediately responded with a "meow," as if acknowledging me. Could this cat really be Nora? Still confused and puzzled, I suddenly heard a commotion as grandma burst into the room, exclaiming, "Ah! Nora?!" She then turned and glared at me, grabbing my arm tightly, trying to drag me out of the room. However, the cat kept "meowing," as if protesting grandma's actions. The cat jumped off the bed and gently stepped on grandma's foot with her front paw. It seemed like there was some silent communication between them. After a few seconds, grandma sighed deeply, as if she had understood the situation. She let go of my arm, knelt down and gently stroked the cat's head. The cat nuzzled against grandma's hand, as if comforting her. Finally, grandma looked up at me, her tone calm but with a hint of resignation, "Wait for me in the living room, and I will explain everything."

Still baffled, I walked downstairs and sat on the sofa, my mind racing with questions. Nora is a cat? Or is the cat Nora? Is she a human or a cat? A little while later, grandma came in holding the cat, who was now dressed in a pink dress and wearing a strawberry hat. The outfit suited her perfectly. The cat saw me and immediately jumped onto my lap, curling up like a little ball of dough, clearly feeling comfortable and content. Grandma looked at her in disbelief, then sat next to me and opened a photo album, showing me pictures of Nora as a child.

"Nora came to live with me when she was five," Grandma began to explain. "She has always been a sweet, well-mannered, and cheerful child. Though at times, she felt lonely and scared, perhaps afraid of losing her loved ones again, she never let those feelings stop her from caring for me." I looked at the innocent little girl in the photos, finding it hard to imagine the insecurity and helplessness she must have felt as a child. "I raised her and stayed by her side, but when she turned fifteen, something strange happened one night." Grandma flipped to another page, showing photos of Nora as a teenager. She continued, "That evening, we were about to go out for dinner. Suddenly, thick smoke appeared around Nora. I was shocked, and when the smoke cleared, she had vanished! In her place was a small cat, and the clothes she had been wearing were left behind. I was terrified and had no idea what to do, but the cat kept pawing at me. A bold idea crossed my mind, and I tried calling her name—amazingly, the cat responded. That’s when I realized, this little cat was Nora."
