My fourth hour and fifth hour flew over like nothing however after my sixth hour I opened my locker to find a different note in my locker. It's creamy envelope and wrinkles were not like the dark, creepy note from earlier. 

This time I made sure that I stuffed this note in my pocket, this time I was going to read this note without any questions.

I grabbed my backpack and rushed out the doors of the school with everyone else. 

Before I was going to walk home, I sat at a table outside of the school since Roy wanted to meet up with me today anyways. The note or actually rather letter was warm from my pocket as I picked open the lip.

"Bean?" Lexi's voice questioned from behind me. 

Right when I was going to open it!

"What?" I said quickly stuffing the note into my backpack.

"I thought for sure you'd be long gone by now, your sixth hour teacher is nice and always lets you out early." 

"I'm just feeling a little lazy today, sitting before my long walk home..." I said making up something for Roy's stupid meeting. 

She grinned at me."Roy and I can drive you, if you wouldn't mind." 

Nooo.. 

"Sure." I smiled. What the hell Roy, you said you wanted to talk and now you ditch me! Dick.

I swear something is out to get me, today couldn't get anymore weirder. A family moved into the abandoned house next door and Roy started actually paying attention to my existence well... at least I thought. 

Lexi grabbed my hand and lead me over to a black Impala, Roy looked at Lexi with annoyance until his eyes hit mine with surprise.

"Roy, hope you won't mind dropping my friend off." She grinned, giving him the 'you have no choice look'.  

He nodded and finally glanced away from me.

I opened the back seat door and slipped in while Lexi sat passenger. 

No way was I going to sit front even if I had the choice, that would be too awkward. Plus I probably would of glared at him for ditching me. 

Roy drove off and sometimes glanced at me through the rear view mirror. 

Roy's dirty blond hair was shaggy over his smokey grey eyes, those eyes made almost any girl fall in love with him but, me. Well actually I did have a crush on Roy before that shameful night. 

"So Bean, what's the new kid like?" Lexi asked braking the awkward silence. 

I cleared my throat. "Haven't met him yet...."

"Even though he gave you a note?" She asked eagerly.

Roy looked interested in this conversation, he looked at me the same way Lexi did. 

"No, the note disappeared when I went to read it after second hour." I glumly told them. 

Lexi grinned but, turned back in her seat. 

Once the car stopped I jumped out as soon as I could.

Lexi smiled and waved at me as Roy drove away. She opened her window and yelled, "Read the note in your backpack!" 

I stood froze, how did she know? I made sure she didn't see it.....

Before I could read it I had to go through my mother to my bedroom, the usual school questions except one, "did you meet the new neighbors? I'm for sure the boy's your age." 

I just shook my head and shut my bedroom door. New kids always  are the center of attention when they come to a new school but, how come I've heard nothing about him except that he wanted my locker combination. To be honest he wasn't ugly, he's black hair was for sure unforgettable.

I dug through my bag to find the letter. This time I could actually read it without interruptions.

The envelope ripped open easily, what it said surprised me:

Dear, Bean Garrett.

We were noted that our son has moved in next to you, just to reassure you Prince Travis isn't there to harm you just simply return you. 

Hope to see you soon, King Charleston's. 

I wanted to almost bust out laughing however in me I kinda believed the note, I mean the writing was cursive and the signature wasn't something you could fake. 

The letter was too freakish to throw away so I stuffed it in my dresser with my underwear, a place no one would look.

Who is Travis? Is he the new kid? Then he is trying to play a joke which isn't funny. 

I shook it off and walked off down the hall to the kitchen. 

My mother wasn't in the kitchen which meant she was probably off to work, lucky her she had work late.

I whipped up a sandwich and a bowel of chicken soup. My stomach growled for the taste of the soup as I dug in. All of a sudden my mother busted into the kitchen with my note in between her finger tips. Had she really dug through my underwear drawer....

"Why the hell didn't you tell me!" She yelled. "It had their scent all over it, you should be happy I found the letter." 

I stared wide eyed at the wrinkled, creamy envelope. The one that said some guy named Travis was here to return me.

My mother awaited my answer as I shoved my soup aside.... For now.

"Mother, I didn't think of it as a big deal. It is just a prank someone did to me at school." 

She shook her head. "Bean I'm sorry about this but, this letter isn't a prank. Someone is really here to return you to....." She paused. 

"Mom! Return me to where?! How do you know that's not a joke!" I hollered, pointing to the letter. 

To be honest she was scaring me, the way she talked. Who scent had she smelled and how? Where is this 'person' supposed to return me too? 

"Honey, you need to be clam. I'm sorry for coming into the kitchen and yelling at you." She told me sweetly. "This is going to sound crazy however you just need to know, I knew this time would come eventually."

"Tell me what?" I shifted in my stool awkwardly while my mother sat down next to me.

"I'm not your..... Mother." It was very hard for her to admit it but, she did.

I wanted to jump away from her and call grandma who lived about a hour away. Grams could straighten her back to her senses. However I didn't, I just sat saying absolutely nothing. 

"Bean, please say something."

I just shook my head. Unbelievable, she obviously is on drugs or is drunk.

"Your, drunk mother. Go lay down before you go to work which you probably just skipped anyways." I said surprisingly calm. "I'll call them and tell them you'll be taking a sick day." 

She reached out to touch my shoulder however I dodged her hand. "Bean please understand how hard this is for me right now, you are and will always be my daughter just....not by blood." Tears glistened in her amber eyes.

So I sighed and payed attention to her craziness. "Fine continue." I just knew she would speak more crazy.

"At a young age, your real mother died of child brith. Your father acted coldly towards everyone after it....." She stopped, probably preparing for the next weird part. "I took you from him and left a note saying I would raise you in the human world, away from any dangers." 

I was truly bewildered by everything she was saying. I couldn't decide if I believed her or not.

"Your mother was my sister, however your father didn't like you being away from the castle long soo.... I hid you from him for your protection." She said. 

I stuck my hand in her face before she could continue. "Stop, just stop. I'm afraid mother that I might have to send you to a nut house. My father isn't the king over a country and my real mother is standing right in front of my face." 

She shook her head and looked eagerly at me. "Your father is dead, Bean. You're the heir but...."

I held my arms open. "Look around us, there are no kings or queens. I swear this is just a nightmare you had last night." 

My denial took her by shock, "Bean, people have taken over your throne! King Charles took your rule over the Demon World!" She yelled.

There's that name from the note...... 

My eyes drifted off to the window because I knew she was just deranged. Someone or really just a shadow lingered outside in our backyard. It put its thumbs up as if confirming what my mother had said. Then I couldn't take it anymore my vision turned black and everything faded away from my grasp even my mother yelling my name.
