The autumn breeze hits my cold face like a whip.

One. Two. Three. Four.

One. Two. Three. Four.

The wind blows against me, and i’m already tired as I am.

One. Two. Three. Four.

One. Two. Three. Four.

The orange and red leaves blow in the air above me, dancing, and taunting me.

One. Two. Three. Four.

One. Two. Three. Four.

One.. Two….

I should find shelter for now.

I find a small bus stop shelter and sit down and warm up there. I find a larger jacket in my backpack on top of my school books.

I shed off the smaller jacket, but reconsider and put it back on, and put the larger jacket on over. I pull out some gloves from the front pocket of my bag and put them on, but then take off the left one and pull out my iPod and earbuds too.

I hit shuffle on a playlist, and put in my earbuds as the vocals reach the inside of my mind. I put my left glove back on, and stick my iPod in my front left pocket of my jeans, and continue forward,

My uncle will kill me if i’m late.

One. Two. Three. Four.

One. Two. Three. Four.

My footsteps strain to match the music blasting in my ears.

“Just shoot me, shoot me”

…

The guitar takes over the melody, as the song comes to an end.

Another song starts.

One. Two. Three. Four.

One. Two. Three. Four.

“How can I stop the rain.

Somebody close the gate”

One. Two. Three. Four.

One. Two. Three. Four.

One. Two. Three. Four.

One...

I guess i’m home already.
