Tick...Tock...Tick...Tock
I sighed as I stared up at the clock in the classroom. Only one more minute till the bell rings and only one more minute till summer vacation starts. I'm pretty stoked about summer because then i'll get to hang out with my best friend, Roscoe Rivers more. I glanced over at Roscoe and smiled softly as I watched him doodle in his notebook then I glanced at the ring on his left hand. Both me and Roscoe have friendship rings that symbolizes our friendship. He has a ring that has peanut butter bread on it and I have a ring that has a jelly bread on it. I guess you can say he's the peanut butter to my jelly. Everybody at school calls us 'cute friends' because we're cute as a couple, but we're only friends.
I've been friends with Roscoe for so long that I can't even imagine us splitting up. We've done so many things together. We always have sleepovers and hang out at the mall on the weekends and study together during the week. Now we get to spend a whole summer together doing whatever. I can't wait to get started.
I glanced down at my jelly ring and smiled at it before I glanced up at the clock again and watched as the clock ticked. I felt my heart pounding in my chest as the hand moved closer and closer to the number. Before long, it hit the number and the bell rung. Suddenly, everybody jumped up and ran out of the room. I got up and quickly gathered my stuff then I went over to Roscoe and waited for him to grab his things. Once he packed his bag up, we both walked up to the classroom door and saw a huge wave of kids heading towards the exit of the school. I took a deep breath then held out my hand to him.
"Let's hold hands." I said.
Roscoe nodded then took my hand into his and we both pushed ourselves into the crowd. I felt every inch of my body being pushed and shoved, but I made sure to never let go of Roscoe's hand. I held onto his hand tightly as he guided us towards the exit. I thought that this nightmare was never going to end until I started seeing the light at the end of the hallway and I knew we made it out.
When we made it outside, I sighed in relief, glad to be out of there. I hadn't even realized that I was still holding Roscoe's hand until one of our classmates walked up to us and smirked.
"You guys might as well start dating." Sabrina said then held out her yearbook to Roscoe.
"Can you sign my yearbook?" She asked.
Roscoe nodded. "Sure." He said then grabbed a pen and let go of my hand.
I didn't really mind much that he let go of my hand. Sometimes we hold hands and people think that we're a couple, but we're not. We're just two best friends that like to keep each other company. I watched as Roscoe signed her yearbook before she passed her yearbook to me to sign. I grabbed the pen then looked over Roscoe's writing.
Have a great summer. Don't try to get into trouble too much~ :P
I chuckled softly then wrote my signature down next to his.
Keep us in touch! =3
I held out the yearbook to hand it back to Sabrina when Roscoe took it from my hands and began doodling something under our writing. I leaned over a bit and watched as Roscoe doodled mini versions of me and him which are called Chibi's in the Japanese world. The chibi's had their arm around each other while they held up peace signs and looked goofy. I giggled then watched Roscoe hand the yearbook back to her so she can look it over. I watched as Sabrina looked over our signature and the doodle then she giggled.
"You two are so cute. You both definitely need to think about dating. I'll support you~" She said then winked.
"Anyways, see you guys next year." She said then walked away to find somebody else to sign her yearbook.
I smiled then turned and spread my arms out.
"IT'S FINALLY SUMMER!!" I shouted.
"Yup. We're officially juniors now." Roscoe said then he pulled my arms down and grabbed my wrist.
"Let's get to our bus before we're late." He said then started dragging me over to the buses.
When we got to our bus, we got on and went over to our seats. Roscoe sat down next to the window while I took the aisle seat. Roscoe normally prefers the window because he likes seeing nature go by and he likes watching people walk down the street. I prefer the aisle because I like to see what other people are doing around us. You can pretty much guarantee that we're both like Yin and Yang because even though we both might have some differences, we counter each other out and that's what makes us grow closer together.

When our bus stopped at our stop, me and Roscoe got out along with a couple other students and we started walking down the street. Our houses are on the same street so we take the same bus and walk back home together. My house is the first one we approach, though so when we reached my house, I said goodbye to Roscoe.
"I'll talk to you later." I said.
"Alright. I'll call you." He said then continued walking down the street, to his house.
I smiled softly then started walking up to my house when I noticed that my dad's car is in the driveway.
Hm. That's odd. Normally dad doesn't get home till later.
I walked into the house and went over to the kitchen to see my parents talking. They noticed me and smiled.
"Great. You're home. We have some news for you." My mom said.
I nodded then walked over to the fridge and grabbed out some cranberry juice to drink. I poured the juice into a clear glass then set the jug back into the fridge and grabbed my glass. I started to drink my cranberry juice as I looked at my parents.
"What's the news?" I asked.
I can tell my parents seemed pretty excited about the news that they're about to share. A little too excited for my taste. I wonder what's on their mind. Oh god. I hope the news isn't about us moving.
"Wait...Are we...moving?" I asked, feeling a little scared.
I don't want to move. I can't leave Roscoe.
My mom started chuckling. "Oh, honey. We're not moving. This news is about summer vacation."
"Oh." I nodded.
"Anyways, my boss gave me the summer off and we're going to spend the whole summer in Hawaii." My dad announced.
My eyes widen, completely surprised by this news.
"H-Hawaii?" I repeated.
"Yep. For the whole summer. We'll be staying in a cute tiki themed hotel that's right by the beach." My mom said.
"And you're allowed to bring a friend." My dad said.
I smiled brightly. "Awesome! I'll go call Roscoe!" I said then set my juice down and ran up to my room.
When I got to my room, I pulled out my cell phone and quickly called Roscoe.
"What's up, Ricky?" He said into the phone.
"Roscoe! Guess what!?"
"What is it?" He asked.
"We're going to Hawaii!" I shouted.
"Woah. What?"
"My dad got the summer off and decided that all of us are going to spend the whole summer in Hawaii. He said I can bring you along with me." I explained.
"Wow. That's awesome and I was just wondering what we were going to do for the whole summer." He said.
"I know! Beaches, food, it's all too good to be true, but I can't wait!"
"I guess I should start packing huh?" He teased.
I smiled. "I dunno. I'll ask when we're leaving, but knowing my dad, he wants to go early." I said.
"Alright. I'll tell my mom. Call me when you receive more details okay?"
"Of course. Later." I said then hung up.
I collapsed onto my bed with a huge grin on my face. I can't wait to get my summer started.
