I know it's technically cheating, but there's only just over 5,000 words, and I don't want to start anything entirely new.

You can, only your final project will be 55,000 words total. The goal is to write a total of 50,000 words in one month

Just copy the URl (link) up at the top of the page when you go to your story and take it to "Find Your Writing Buddies!" and go to NaNoWriMo 2016 WIPs and paste your link on there and that you'd like it to be your NaNoWriMo story for this month. Coen should have it done pretty quickly. :)
