Blinding brightness hits my resting eyes, a newly found heat settling into my sleeping body. I open my eyes and sit up, my body still buzzing with sleep. The disheveled bedsheets wrap around my legs, tangling me up in bed. I rub my eyes of the heavy sleep and quickly find that I'm alone in my room.

I suddenly notice the change in my room. Not only has the atmosphere switched from a protective and warm energy, I'm suddenly hit with the emptiness of it. My room looks brighter to me, a soft golden hue taking hold of the walls and anything it can rest upon.

I run to my window and squint my eyes at the sharp bright light breaking through the sky. The violet colors in the sky remind me of my Obsidian. The violet colors dull and pale against the memory of the dark yet sparkling abyss that are his eyes.

His features defined in my memory, much like a sudden dream. I can vividly remember the first time I laid eyes on him. He truly was an intimidating being to behold, much like a wild beast. But after seeing his reaction to my touch and getting him into clean clothing I couldn’t help the sudden surge of protectiveness I feel towards him. I can't be without him. My aching soul can't be without him. I turn around and find myself face to face with a dark figure standing in my doorway.

My breath catches in my throat as the hunched over figure stares at me. His stained burgundy teeth catch the natural sunlight spilling in through the window, silver dripping from his mouth. He’s nothing like my Obsidian, my Obsidian showed control and restraint against his animalistic nature. The man before me showed none of these qualities.

My body freezes in shock as the man before me let’s out a guttural growl, the sound vibrating through my limbs. He salivated against his snarl, catching me off guard as he lunges at me.

The monster pinning me down suddenly bites down on my shoulder. I scream as a burning sensation invades my shoulder. His sharp teeth rip away at my shoulder, the pain blurring my vision and slipping me away from consciousness. What is that piercing sound? I realize it's my scream ringing in my own ears.
