Suddenly, half down the stairs, she felt a sharp pain on her left arm that moved to the left side of her chest. She put a hand there, and it was as if she couldn't breathe. She didn't know what was going on, but she guessed that she was dying tonight.
A moment later, she collapsed and fell down the stairs. Then everything went black for her.

Damon was in the living room, when he heard a thud from the stairs and silence, so he went to investigate, only to find the love of his life on her back at the bottom of the stairs.

He was instantly at her side.
As he knelt beside her, he listened for a heartbeat with vamp hearing, but couldn't hear anything from her, so he figured that she had had a heart attack.
